Converted Victorian Apartment, Ealing

We were commissioned to transform a newly converted first-floor Victorian apartment into a warm, inviting home that truly reflected our clients' personalities. Although beautifully finished, the apartment lacked character and individuality. Having spent many years living and working abroad, our clients were ready to create a home where they could put down roots and surround themselves with pieces that felt personal and meaningful.

The result is a home that feels warm, practical and effortlessly tailored to the lifestyle of its owners - balancing timeless design with thoughtful functionality.

Living, Dining and Kitchen Area

A key requirement was to introduce additional storage without compromising the apartment's sense of space. Bespoke joinery became the cornerstone of the design, allowing us to maximise functionality while creating a cohesive and elegant interior.

Custom-designed pieces included a media unit, living room cabinetry, a dedicated bar and wine station, open shelving and a generous dining banquette with integrated storage. We also extended the existing kitchen cabinetry, carefully crafted to match the original concrete-effect veneer.

Entrance Hall

Our vision for the entrance hall was to elevate this compact space and create a stronger sense of arrival. Plain white walls were replaced with a textured blue linen-effect wallcovering, introducing interest, depth and subtle sophistication.

The blue textured backdrop provides the perfect setting for the clients' treasured collection of cartography artwork, gathered during their years working overseas. An oak radiator cover with large oak-framed mirror complete the scheme, bringing warmth to the space while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom began as another blank, white space with little sense of identity. Working around the clients' existing blue velvet bed and headboard, we developed a calm and inviting scheme that balanced colour, comfort and practicality.

Increasing storage was central to the brief, so we used wide bedside cabinets, an extra-wide chest of drawers and a tallboy, providing generous storage while maintaining a streamlined look. To soften the room, we introduced walls in a soft butter-yellow, adding warmth without overwhelming the space. An embroidered roman blind and upholstered blue accent chair complete the scheme, creating a restful welcoming retreat.
